How can it be that the Avos Hakedoshim and Moshe Rebeinu, etc were actual human beings in a flesh and blood body like we have? It doesn’t seem plausible that the actual merkava lashchinah, and someone who Hashem spoke to face to face, had a body like you and me?

So I think we need to turn the question around. Think for a minute what a Jew is. Not only is he the pinnacle of Creation, living star-dust, not only does he have a body with 30 trillion cells, each one as complex as an entire city, working all together in perfect harmony to allow us to be functional human beings, we are each an entire UNIVERSE, within another physical universe, 14 billion light years across. And we are tied above and below, u’mafli la’asos, living at the same time in all the words, with a soul that is a chelek eloka mimal, with 5 levels, going all the way up to Hashem himself. And Hashem gave us His precious Torah, which contains all the secrets of Creation and allows us to connect to the Creator of the Universe in ways that no other creation can. So the question is actually the other way around: *How can we be so incredibly great, so infinitely awesome, with so much incredible potential, and yet see ourselves as so small???*
