Paradox of the Infinite
On the one hand we say that even the greatest Tzadik, no matter how much a person serves Hashem, he hasn’t really even BEGUN to serve Hashem! Yet on the other hand, we say that every mitzva a jew does, even the smallest Jew, is infinitely great??
It doesn’t seem to make any sense.
I think the answer is that the laws of “sense” break down when dealing with the concept of infinity. If Hashem is infinitely great, then nothing anyone can ever do can be considered adequate.
But on the other hand, if we are fulfilling the will of the infinite, every act we do becomes infinite in nature.
Cuz even 0.00000000000000000000000001% of infinity is still infinite!
