אור החיים בראשית - ב': א'

יש לך לדעת שאין תשוקה בעולם עריבה וחביבה ונחמדת ונאהבת ונתאבת ומקוות לנבראים ובפרט לחלקי הרוחני המכיר ויודע בחינת אור האלהות כהדבקות באורו יתברך ואליו יכספו כל נפש חיונית המגעת להכיר קצת מנועם אורו יתברך תצא נפשם לחזות בנועם ה'.

You should know, that there is no craving in the world that is as pleasing, as precious, as desirable, as beloved, as coveted and as yearned for by the creations (specifically by the spiritual part [of the creations] that recognizes and knows the nature of divine light), as the d’veikus (attachment / bonding) with the light of Hashem. And for this, yearn all living souls, to touch and know a little of the pleasure of His Blessed’s light, their “souls leave them” (out of great desire) to bask in the pleasure of Hashem.
