GPS

People often feel that Hashem surely hates them after all the sins they did, and the trouble they have in their life is only proof of that… It could be helpful to envision Hashem’s hanhaga in the world as a GPS. If a person makes a wrong turn and the GPS takes him to a round-about way, would he imagine that the GPS hates him, and proof of that is that it is taking him on a long round-about way? Of course not. He understands that the GPS was designed only for his benefit. It is not CAPABLE of doing something bad to spite him, it can only find the shortest route to our destination at all times, no matter how many times we make mistakes and no matter how far we may have strayed from our original route. It is similar with Hashem, only that He truly loves us way more than we can imagine. So He SURELY is not capable of doing anything bad to us. But whenever we stray from the shortest path to our destination, all the worlds, above and below, and all the malachim and shlichim of Hashem, the natural world of Teva included, all work together as a giant GPS that reroutes us to the next shortest path to our goal. And the farther we stray, the more extreme measures this teva of “Elokim” (equals hateva) needs to take to get us back to our destination. So even something as horrible and incomprehensable as the Holocaust, is really just the GPS finding us the shortest route back to our destination. But since we had strayed so far for so long, we had to go an excruciating process, like a surgery that removes a large cancerous mass from our body, so that the rest can regrow healthy again. But it is impossible for Hashem to hate or spite. All these foolish thoughts that the Yetzer Hara puts into our head that Hashem surely despises me already, so what’s the use. We must recognize these damaging thoughts as complete lies! If a GPS isn’t capable of despising, could Hashem, Who loves us so dearly, possibly be capable of this?
